Province Wide Restrictions – Rocky Point’s Plan for This Week
We’re keeping our eyes on this page for updates from the Provincial Health Office:
We’ve got further information from the Fraser Health Office regarding the status of Safety Plan Approvals. To quote:
“We would like to reach out to you to provide you an update on the process for gym and fitness COVID-19 Safety Plan reviews:
- The current Provincial Health Officer (PHO) Order requires provincial guidelines to be approved by the PHO. These guidelines will outline the requirements facilities must meet in order to safely operate.
- A Provincial working group, comprised of Health Authorities, British Columbia Centre for Disease Control and the Office of the PHO, is currently in the process of developing these guidelines and supporting materials that will assist operators to update their plans.
- Once these guidelines have been approved by the PHO, they will be available for facilities to update their COVID-19 safety plans to align with the requirements.
- Medical Health Officer approval of your updated COVID-19 safety plan will be required prior to reopening.”
In other words, they have not determined what a safety plan is supposed to look like yet.
Until then we stay the course. The 2 differences being:
1./ Masks are mandatory at all times while indoors. We highly recommend using the paper medical mask for better airflow.
2./ We have 7 days of programming in Wodify. Make your reservations as you normally would. Pick a day of programming to complete. Included in the Wodify programming are 3 different, at-home, huff and puff Metcon workouts. If you have any questions on how to scale these WODs please talk to a coach.
Coaches will be screening and letting you into the gym as you arrive to avoid a congregation out front. Coaches will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the wods, help you decide a strategy and as always coach you through your session.
The decision is still out on whether we can pop up a couple of tents in the parking lot if you wish to put in some cardio on the machines. Stay tuned. Slots will be limited and we will have an alternate means to book those slots.
We’re approaching the last 10 minutes of a 30 Minute AMRAP. And one of those nasty ones too where Aaron stops you every minute and makes you do 5 burpees over the bar. It sucks. We still have a ways to go. But it won’t last forever. A bit vigilance on our part and we’ll be out the other side.
Keep safe. Stay healthy. And enjoy the strength you are building these weeks!!!!!! That’s some money in the bank!
